Bags2School - A big thank you to everyone who supported our latest Bags2School campaign. We collected over 1040kg and raised a staggering £312. Ice Hockey - The Friends have arranged an ice-hockey game for children and parents to go and watch at the Swindon Link Centre between Swindon Wildcats v Bracknell on Saturday 22nd November. Letters will be sent home to parents early October explaining the event. Parents tickets will cost £5.00 and children's tickets £2.00. However, the money collected for the children's tickets sold will be refunded back to The Friends of Baydon School. Some parents and children went earlier this year to watch a game v Bracknell and had a thoroughly good time and raised £37.50 towards the funds. We hope you will join us and enjoy a good evening out!!!! Complete the attached form if you wish to attend. The Friends have handed a further cheque to the school for £450.00 to purchase small construction/world play for classes 1 and 2. The Friends have recently donated £250.00 to cover coach costs for the school's summer trip to the Cotswold Water Park. A further £350.00 has also been donated which was raised from the May Celebration towards the cost of the trip so parents/carers only have to pay £4.75 instead of £10.50. Many thanks to all who came and supported this fun event.
The Friends of Baydon School would like to congratulate Luca Hartig in Class 2 (Goldfinches) for winning the Friends new logo competition. He won tickets to visit Cotswold Wildlife Park, we hope he has a lovely time with his family. The Friends will be proud to use his logo on their official paperwork as soon as the printers have drafted his masterpiece!!! The Friends would also like to thank all the other children who entered the competition and thank Reverend Sandy for helping choose the winner which was very difficult as all entries were to a good standard. The Friends of Baydon School are also delighted to announce that Bags2School raised £372.00, the company collected bags which weighed an amazing 1 tonn and 240 kilos!!!!. The Friends would like to thank all parents and villagers who contributed in making this event so successful. The Friends would especially like to thank Baydon Stores and The Red Lion for their help distributing and collecting the bags which helped make this a real community event. The Friends work hard to support the school by fund raising, event organising and helping whenever and wherever possible. They need your help and support to make the school successful. |
