Dream School - The Local Authority Voluntary Aided Coordinated Programme (LCVAP) have confirmed that funding is in place to improve our school buildings and enhance our facilities for the 21st century. There is a long way to go; gaining planning permission, organising and major fundraising (as a school we have to raise 7% of building costs). The Governors will keep you informed and welcome volunteers to join our ‘Dream School Fundraising Committee’. Christmas Fayre - A big thank you to the Friends, parents, pupils and everyone from the local community for organising and supporting this event. It was a fantastic afternoon and everyone had a great time wandering through the school looking at the many stalls, trying their hands at various competitions and enjoying the refreshments and entertainment not forgetting the visit to Santa's Grotto. A final figure for the amount raised has yet to be confirmed but at the last count it was approximately £1900. Well done everyone. Village Fun Auction - Friday evening saw the school hall packed with people eagerly awaiting for the bidding to start on the numerous lots which were to go under the auctioneer's hammer. As time went by it became apparent that the event was going to be a resounding success, and although the final amount of money raised has yet to be confirmed, it is well in excess of £3500. A big THANK YOU goes out to everyone who helped in various ways to make the auction such a success. Not only did we raise a fantastic amount of money but everyone had a wonderful "fun" evening. OFSTED - We were delighted with the result of the recent inspection, putting the school in the category of Good in all areas. To view a copy of the full report click here. The Church School Summer Fair was a resounding success with the sun shining, lots of people there, and nearly £2000 raised for the school and church. Many thanks to all the parents and staff who gave up their time to help out. Parish Council Visit - As part of their Geography work Kingfishers have been looking at how they can improve the local environment. From the last issue of the Baydon Scene they noted a letter regarding dogs fouling the pavements and walkways around the village. In conjunction with the Parish Council they designed some posters aimed at encouraging all dog owners to be responsible and clear the mess up after their dog. The Parish council awarded prizes for the most eye catching posters. Councillors Heather White and Allison Tompkins came to school to award the prizes at the weekly Celebration Worship on May 23rd. The overall winner was Briony with runners up being Jorgia, Matthew, Sam and Matthew. Well done to all children who took part. All the posters will be on view around the village. Friends - The Friends have recently donated £250.00 to cover coach costs for the school's summer trip to the Cotswold Water Park. A further £350.00 has also been donated which was raised from the May Celebration towards the cost of the trip so parents/carers only have to pay £4.75 instead of £10.50. Many thanks to all who came and supported this fun event.

Scholastic Book Fair - Thank you to everyone who came to the Scholastic Book fair. We sold £323 worth of books which means we were able to claim 40% commission. Mrs Warner and Miss Rasberry have selected books suitable for their individual readers.
Congratulations - We were recently commended by the Health and Safety Food Hygiene Office and awarded 5 stars. This is the highest possible award for standards of cleanliness in a food production environment. Congratulations and thanks go to the kitchen team of Miss Mannings and Mrs Ellison.
