Term 3 (2011-2012)
Year 1 and Year 2 children in Goldfinches class and Year 1 children in Robins class have recently entered a poetry competition.  We have written simple poems based on either a season eg winter, or an emotion eg happiness. 

Here are two of our poems:-

                                      Winter                                                                                                Happiness
                        Winter smells like turkey                                                                  Happiness smells like hot chocolate
                        Winter looks like white snow                                                             Happiness looks like white cake
                        Winter sounds like bells                                                                   Happiness sounds like bells
                        Winter feels like a blanket                                                                Happiness feels like hard bricks
                        Winter tastes like hot chocolate                                                       Happiness tastes like vanilla ice cream


Although we are hopeful we do not expect to win!  However, some of the best poems will be printed in a book.  How exciting it will be to see our work in print!  We'll let you know how we get on.
