The government provides additional funding to improve provision of physical education and sport in Primary Schools.

This funding provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport  is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but have the freedom to choose how they do this. Below is an overview of how we have decided to use this funding for the previous academic year.

Funding Amount and Use

For the 2025-2026 academic year the school was allocated £16,840.

The impact of spending for the current year has meant that every child in Key Stage 2 has participated in competitive sports competition despite challenges due to transport and being in a rural area. Pupils have been more engaged in sport (as reported in our pupil survey where 92% of pupils in KS2 reported enjoyment of competitions attended). Outside resources purchased for the school has meant every pupil has had increased opportunities for physical activity in and outside of lessons. Large resources purchased have included a balance beam adventure set which pupils use every break. Support given this year through mentoring sessions in PE will lead to enhanced confidence and ability by class teachers when delivering PE lessons.
