Welcome back to the start of what I am sure will be another exciting year at Baydon St Nicholas.
I would specifically like to welcome all our Reception children into their new class as well as those who are joining us from elsewhere further up the school. I hope that they will be truly happy here.
It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as your new Headteacher. I am most excited by the challenge of leading this wonderful school to the next phase of its development and working with the excellent team which is already in place. I am also much looking forward to meeting and getting to know you all over the coming months.
By way of introduction, I have been the Deputy Head at St Michael’s in Aldbourne where I taught for seven years and, prior to that, taught in a large primary school in Swindon. I came into teaching late in my career having first qualified as a solicitor in the City of London and then working in the voluntary sector for a variety of different charities including BBC Children in Need and one of the Prince’s Trusts.
I live in Aldbourne with my husband and two children and, when I am not at Baydon, will either have my head in a book or be seen walking or cycling around the beautiful countryside which we are truly blessed to live in.
I would very much like to meet as many of you as I can over the next few weeks and will endeavor to be at the school gate both in the morning and the afternoon. Please do come and introduce yourself. I should also like to invite you to share a cup of coffee with me on either Thursday 8th September at 8.45am or Monday 12th September at 2.30pm in the school hall. Please do join me so I can get to know you as I strongly believe that the relationship between home and school is of critical importance to the development and education of our children.
If you are not able to make either coffee morning, my door is always open so do feel free to pop in and say hello.
